Ingrediants
3 cups Bread Flour ( You may also use APF)1 Cup Water
1/4 Cup Oil
2 Tbsp Sugar
1 tsp Salt
1 1/2 tsp Yeast
1 Tbsp Milk Powder(optional)
Procedure:
Microwave water for about 40 secs. Temp ard 110deg. I dont have a thermometer. So Basically water should be hot so that you can put your finger in it comfortably for about 10 sec. Put yeast in it and add sugar. Sugar is the food for yeast so Do not skip it. Stir and Keep it in warm place for about 15 mins.
This is how it looks when yeast is proofed! Foamy. If water is too hot or yeast is not active. You wont get this result.
Now take a Bowl , Add Flour, Oil , Yeast Mixture and Salt
Add Oil
Now Knead the dough well for about 10 mins. If its sticky dust it with some flour. DO NOT add to much flour. Let it rest for about 20 mins. Cover it with some deep lid and keep it in a warm place. I have used machine to make my dough. But You can use your hands, I have done that so many times. But now with baby, this is quite convenient for me.
Knead again for about 10mins. Pull it, tear it. Just knead it well. This time kneading is much easier as some gluten is already formed during resting time. And now again keep it at a warm place for about 20 min. This is how it looks after 20 mins.
Now grease the pan.Flatten the dough and place it in the pan as shown. Let it rest for about 45 mins , Till it rises well.
Now Preheat the oven to 400deg F and then Place the Pan in it for about 25 mins.
Once the top of the loaf is nice and brown after about 12 mins. Rotate the pan on other sides and continue to Bake.
When you tap it, should sound hollow. It would look nice hard. Let it cool for about 5 min.
Remove from the pan and Let it cool for about 15- 20 mins on a cooling rack.
Slice them using a sharp knife. I have used my electric knife for cutting. Loaf should be completely cooled before you cut. May be at least an hr or so.
