Tandoori Roti

Tandoori Roti is made from wheat flour and traditionally made in Tandoor. This version is made in the Oven and nothing less than store brought one. This recipe yields about 6 rotis. They tasted  so fresh and soft even next day!

Ingrediants

1 1/2 cup Wheat Flour
1/2 cup APF
3 Tbsp Yogurt
1/4 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp Salt
Abt 1/2 cup warm water

Procedure
Mix all the above ingrediants to form a soft dough. Amount of water will depend upon the consistency of your yogurt. I had to use abt 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp water. Knead the dough well .Cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for about half and hr.

Divide the balls into 6 parts. Then roll it into about 6 inch circles. Do not make it very thin like you do for fulkas. You will have to roll it to paratha thickness.

In the meanwhile Pre heat the oven to 500F and then keep the oven on broil. While doing this keep you pizza stone to heat in it as well. I have used my regular cookie baking tray.

Once the oven is hot enough, wet your hands and place it in the oven on Broil settings itself for about 2 mins, till golden. Let the oven heat up for couple of mins before you put in the next.

You may place couple of them at a time. Soft Tandoori roti is ready to be served with your choice of curry!

Do try it out and like my page if your are inspired. Thanks!
